We are proud to have been involved in the listing of the IHG Group on the Luxembourg and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges. IHG, which is a BVI company incorporated and managed by Osiris, listed on the JSE in October 2015. Osiris was retained to project manage the entire offshore side of the listing process. Headed up by Helder Perreira, IHG was assembled by Redefine International, and will focus on the UK hotel market. IHG raised an initial amount of R253m in a private placement but anticipates building market size fairly rapidly.
For Osiris, the interaction between Luxembourg, the BVI and the JSE once again showed the flexibility of the BVI vehicle as the pre-eminent corporate vehicle. BVI companies have been listed on multiple exchanges, including London, Hong Kong, the JSE and for us a first with Luxembourg. Osiris has however, been instrumental in using BVI companies on other exchanges, and is well versed on the requirements of the various exchanges. In our experience, the ability to match the promoters requirements with what the various exchanges and jurisdictions have to offer is a key strength, and one that we are privileged to have been involved with.
